We spoke to Emma Mifflin, Stonewater Surveyor who oversaw the bathroom refurbishments delivered by David, our Homes Maintenance Manager.

Over the past five years, we have been supporting Stonewater properties to deliver a variety of repairs and improvements to homes in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire.

Why did you choose GB Electrical & Building Services Ltd to complete the work?

We have been in a working relationship with GB for a few years now. At the end of last year we reached out to GB to help us refurbish 20 bathrooms as our current contractor was not performing and we needed to complete the work this financial year. GB stepped in to deliver these on a really strict timescale.

 

Did the service meet your expectations?

Yes it did and beyond. We couldn’t have asked for more. We’ve not received any complaints and have got 100% feedback so far. The level of communication has been good throughout. They kept to their promises and stuck to their start dates. We had a seperate programming issue of other works that also needed to be completed before April and GB was able to take on even more additional works on other properties.

 

 

How has the work impacted property/residents/staff?

Hugely. GB have helped us deliver our customer promise of providing affordable, quality homes. For a lot of the residents we adapted the works to meet the needs of the individual. Where possible we provided electric showers to ensure they would always have amenities should their boiler break at any point. For a number of residents their needs were not met by the existing bathroom design. David, our Project Manager went above and beyond to accommodate this.

 

Why is it important to use local contractors?

When possible it is important to work with local contractors as it ties in with our sustainability agenda. Local contractors have a smaller environmental footprint and know the local area. They usually have established sustainable local suppliers too. 

 

If you were to recommend us, what would you say?

It’s a very good service, they delivered the contract as specified. We could trust you to get on and deliver. You don’t need to be micromanaged. I haven’t had to inspect every aspect of the work which is testimonial in itself to your company as I trust the standard of work we will receive. I have nothing but praise.
