Mrs W based in Knighton was awarded a DFG grant to help improve the useability of her main bathroom, provide easier access through her kitchen door and to the rear of her garden. With limited mobility she has struggled with walking on uneven ground and being able to step up and down safely. Her new bathroom adaptation saw her bathroom transformed into a modernised wet room giving her a spacious, safe and user-friendly environment.

Why did you choose GB Electrical & Building Services Ltd to complete the work?
I got a grant through Care and Repair, who sent three contractors around to quote for the work and to meet with me. On first impressions I really liked Jason who came and surveyed the spaces. He was the nicest and friendliest person to come round and really took the time to explain things to me. He has been a huge help. First impressions really do count.
Did the service meet your expectations?
Absolutely love my bathroom. I was quite ill before it was done and was very uneasy about it. At one stage before they came, I almost pulled out. I lost my husband two years ago and he had built the bathroom – I didn’t want to lose these memories so I didn’t want the work done. Jason really helped; he adjusted the plan so I could keep some of the original tiles to remind me of my husband. I am really pleased and am more than happy with it.
How has it impacted your daily life?
The bathroom has made a huge difference to my life, I am no longer falling over and getting covered in bruises. I can shower every day easily.
What are your thoughts on the aftercare and service throughout the process?
Excellent, 100% I would definitely recommend them. I just had the occupational therapist out yesterday to do a report and assessment for my front door. I am hoping to get a grant so GB can come back and adapt my front door for me as I wouldn’t want anyone else to do it.
